Spoilt For Choice – Boys Night Out

27 September 2010

The best and the worst part of booking Melbourne Strippers is making a choice.  So many options how do you know who to book to do the show?

The internet makes it much easier when looking to book a performer, as almost all agencies have a website with information on shows and performers.

As the number of strippers who work freelance increases, you will see a lot of girls on a number of different sites.  There is still a small number of strippers who work under management contracts, but they are generally made available to other agencies for bookings.

When looking at the galleries try to keep in mind the girls often change their look more often than can be updated with new photo shoots.  Blondes become brunettes, become reheads, get tattoos or piercings. Galleries are just a guide. This is an industry built on tease.

Take a note what shows each girl is available to perform.  The girl you want might not do the show you want to book.  Several girls have specialty shows that only they do.  Also, just to keep you confused, some girls don’t advertise all shows they do, for privacy reasons. Girls want to be careful as not everyone operating or booking is an ethical operator.

Make sure you provide the agent with at least three preferences for the show you wish to book.  This will help them make sure you get the girls you want.  Keep in mind, making a booking at short notice, or during peak times, it may be impossible for any agency to meet your preferences.

Plan ahead and book at least three weeks in advance is the best advice.

Beware, there are some sharks out there, and they will trade on a popular strippers name.  You may not get who you book.  Go with an agency that has open communication and keeps you in the loop. Ask around for advice from other guys who’ve organised buck’s parties or with venue operators to get feedback on who yo trust.

Strippers Melbourne Golden Rule: be flexibile on time if you want a particular girl – be flexible on the girl if you want a particular time

5 Must-See Paintings at the De Young Art Museum

22 September 2010

The de Young Art Museum in San Francisco holds one of the top collections of American art in the United States. The permanent collection consists of 17th to 20th century American painting, drawings, and decorative art. Famous artists with displayed works here include Frederic Church, Grant Wood, George Bingham, and Richard Diebenkorn to name a few. In 2005, the de Young’s newly redesigned building was open to the public after the original building was severely damaged by an earthquake. The fine renovations done to the museum and its surrounding areas make for a beautiful day trip in the city’s Golden Gate Park.

The De Young Art Museum’s must-see artworks include:

Three Machines – American painter Wayne Thiebaud’s is known for his works that capture nostalgic views of American pop art and of consumerist America. This painting is a watercolor of a row of three gumball machines, objects seen often in everyday America.  Thiebaud’s interest in American mass culture he felt were best captured in ordinary, everyday objects such as cakes, pastries, boots, toilets, toys, & lipstick.

Rainy Season in the Tropics – A painting of a dense jungle valley overtaken by an luminous rainbow by American landscape painter, Frederic Edwin Church. Like many of his landscape paintings, this work attracts a viewer’s focus from afar. However, a closer look reveals the incredible detail such as the intricate trader and mule in the bottom right corner of the painting. This stunning work how demonstrates Church’s concern “with adding a spiritual dimension in his works”.

Dinner for Threshers – An indoor dinner scene of Midwest wheat farmers by Grant Wood, an American painter best known for his satirical scenes of the rural American Midwest. He often styled his Midwesterner paintings with an element of naivety and narrow mindedness he felt characterized the small-town folk from that region.

Boatmen on the Missouri – A depiction of 3 woodcutters working on the Missouri River by American artist, George Bingham, whose work depicted his view of American frontier life along the Missouri River. Bingham’s work was rediscovered in the 1930s for its evocation of a bygone era in American history and he is now widely considered one of the greatest American painters of the 19th century.

Le Verre de Porto – “A Dinner Table at Night” is a painting of Madame Gautreau, a famous Parisian beauty by American Artist John Singer Sargent. His elegant portraits created an elegant image of society during the Edwardian age and his subjects tended to be celebrities, beautiful people, and the nobility of society.

Top Mistakes Made When Selecting a Men’s Hairstyle

08 September 2010

A variety of males make rather large errors when selecting a new style of hair. There are various points one should consider when taking this leap. Avoid going down the wrong road, but taking a look at the following tips and communicating them with your stylist.

Is the cut appropriate for my age?

There are plenty of guys who choose a men’s hairstyle simply because it looks good on somebody else. They do not take into account how the cut will look on them. Choose a style that’s too young will only make you look like to over compensating for something else. Therefore, make sure to select a style that fits your age group.

Does it fit into your life?

You need to take your lifestyle and habits into consideration when choosing a hairstyle. If you’re relatively low maintenance, you should choose a hairstyle that compliments this. Perhaps a shorter cut, that does not use excessive product. Before you choose a cut, determine the amount of time you’re willing to spend on it every day.

What type of hair do you have?

At some point it all comes down to genetics. If you don’t have the correct hair type to support the style you want, it just won’t work. Instead of fighting it, choose a style that works with your hairstyle.

Is your hair getting thinner?

If your hair is getting thinner, don’t fight it with a comb over. Choose a style that is shorter. Keeping your hair long will not conceal anything. It will only make  the hair thinning stand out more. Embrace what’s happening to you. Go with the flow and get a cut the compliments the thinning of your hair. This way people will notice what you have going for you.

Stay current

A big part of style is about being unique. While unique is important, also stay up to date with the current styles available. Be open to change and work with a great  hair stylist. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Origami Star

08 September 2010

Prior to trying any type of origami star art you have to know the two types of folds used in origami star, a valley fold and a mountain fold. A valley fold is a fold in which you fold the two sides of the paper towards you and when opened, the paper looks the same as a newspaper does when it is opened. To make a mountain fold, fold the two sides of the paper away from you so that when opened, the paper looks like a book turned face down with the crease sticking up into the air.

To start, get a square piece of paper; if you do not have a square piece of paper readily available, get a normal piece of paper and cut off what is required to make it square. If you are going to actually use the origami star as a decoration you might desire to purchase decorated or colored paper.

Once you have a square piece of paper, take the left tip of the paper and valley fold it diagonally and unfold it. Now valley fold it again starting with the right tip and unfold it, the creases should create an X on the paper if the folds are done correctly.

Now valley fold the paper in half, unfold it, rotate the paper and valley fold it in half once more so that the 2 new folds create a cross. You should now have a crease across the middle of the paper, from top to bottom and from corner to corner.

Refold the paper diagonally (beginning at the left corner once more) and leave it folded this time. Valley fold the left end of the triangle so that the fold falls on the closest crease and next mountain fold the right side of the paper so that the fold falls on the closest crease on that side.

Next comes the tricky part; hold the point of the valley fold you have just made and take it over to the right side and take the point of the mountain fold on the right and take it over to the left. Basically the 2 folds should exchange positions and you should see the bottom 2 legs of the star with 2 more tips above if this step is done accurately. There should be a pre-made crease nearby to make this step easier; press the paper securely to make the folds stay in position.

Hold the left end and valley fold it down (there ought to be a crease here) and after fold it back up making a new crease so that ¼ – ½ inch of it is still folded down whereas the rest is folded up to make the left tip of the star. Replicate this step on the right side of the star and your star is done.

If you did not make the creases firmly enough throughout the progression of constructing the star, it might not stay together properly but a bit of glue or tape will probably remedy this.
