Halloween Crafts for Anyone

Visiting a Halloween store to purchase costumes or decorations can be a frightening experience in and of itself. There is so much to choose from and you may end up spending a fortune. You can make many items at home to save on your costs and children will love them just as much as if you had spent a fortune. Make a wide variety so they can be hung in windows, on walls or from the ceiling. It will be a treat to do so.
Paper jack-o-lanterns are both easy to make and fun to use. Take two or three piece of yellow and orange construction paper. Design the shape of the face using the orange paper and add a small green stem if you have the materials on hand. When you cut features from the yellow construction paper, it will appear as if your pumpkin is lit from within with a candle. When you will be hanging this item from a ceiling or in a window, decorate both sides for extra Halloween fun.
Plastic bag ghouls are another big hit with many. Twist the bottom of the bag into a head shape to make your ghoul. Once this has been done, cut the opening of the bag and the upper portion into strips. This will produce a ghoul shape that can be hung indoors or out. Plastic not only holds up well even during bad weather, it also rustles in the wind. The eerie sound is just an added bonus.
Tissue paper ghosts are also fun to make and hang throughout your home. Tissue paper is twisted into a head and then a face is added using markers you have on hand. Coffee can luminaries are great also. Paint the coffee cans orange and black or cover them with construction paper in these colors. Poke holes into the coffee cans in the shape of your choosing and insert a candle. You will light the path for trick or treaters; just take care that they won’t be easily knocked over or that a costume can’t touch the flame.
Halloween Forums are a great place to find crafts suitable for any age. From woodworking to painting, you are sure to find something that you can do that will look great in your home. If you just aren’t the crafty type, you can always buy craft kits and put those together also. No matter which way you go, your house will look wonderful for the holiday.
