Kentchurch Court was originally a 14th century castle, it is a stunning stately home. It is located in the Monnow Valley in Herefordshire, UK. This famous house forms part of a huge five thousand acre estate surrounded by its ancient deer park, bordering both England and Wales.

The property has been used as a film location several times over the years. The Channel 4 reality TV programme ‘Regency House Party’ was filmed inside Kentchurch Court during 2003. In preparation for filming the house was extensively refurbished . 25 rooms were redesigned in line with the diverse styles of the Regency period at a cost of £250,000 in exchange for the use of the house. It took owner Jan and her helpers 10 long weeks and approximately 3 miles of bubble wrap to pack the contents and furniture in the house. Kentchurch Court was featured in the Channel 4 television series ‘Country House Rescue’ in 2011.Kentchurch Court is a Grade 1 listed building which is the ancestral home of the Scudamore family. Remarkably it has been passed down through generations of the same family since 1058. The present house was renovated by John Nash in 1795 in the Gothic revival style, is now thought to be one of the greatest important historic houses in the UK.

Owned by Jan Lucas-Scudamore and her family, Kentchurch Court is still a family home. Kentchurch Court and its fantastic gardens are open for public visits and the huge gardens are part of the National Garden Scheme.The deer park at Kentchurch is home to around two hundred and fifty The Knights Templar previously owned this spot and it was formerly used as a Royal hunting ground. This piece of land was bought by the Scudamore family almost five hundred years ago from the Knights Hospitallers of Dinmore. Gorgeous displays of wild woodland plants during the spring include snowdrops, bluebells and daffodils.Marvellous borders in the walled area of the garden contain interesting collections of many plant families. The extensive terraced lawns are immaculate and the gardens apple orchard bursts into colour when its under planted flowers come into bloom. Colourful maples give a spread of rich colour throughout the autumn season.
