Gothic Cross
We are seeing more gothic style jewelry, clothing and tattoos these days. What is Goth, anyway? Those who adorn themselves with gothic style makeup and upside down crosses are really making a statement, and often just to shock people. It is really not associated with devil worship, although some claims have been made to the contrary.
Most gothic style crosses are depicted as iron and will have a lot of intricate and ornate detail added to them, often with jewels embedded. If you desire the dark side look, gothic artwork is your best bet.
Christian Cross
Is it acceptable for a Christian to get tattoos or cross tattoo designs? Yes it is. The only faith who has a rule against them is the Jewish faith. It is acceptable to show your devotion in the form of a tattoo.
Latin Cross
This is the basic, simplest cross. The vertical line is the divine, the horizontal the world and its intersection is a union of both. These crosses are favorably worn on the hands upper arms or wrist and are small in size.
Crucifix
These type of cross tattoo designs will depict Jesus’ image and a crown of thorns is often added to some detail either on the cross or around it. Some will have a realistic wooden cross done. This is a powerful sentiment no matter how large or small the image is. One cannot help but be moved by a crucifix.
Tribal Cross
Tribal cross tattoo designs will depend on tribal origins and customs but will often be done with bold lines that are interwoven, somewhat similar to the Celtic style, but they will vary greatly in pattern.
