Best Reasons to Consider Free Music Download

A lot of people these days warn against free music download, but I disagree with the reasons they give. I think most of these people have not thought the process through to its fullest extent.

Review the music before you buy: Not everyone who downloads music for free is a criminal like the media would have you believe. Most people who download music for free are doing it to review the music before they go out and purchase it. There is no other way to listen to samples of the music that you may or may not like before spending the money on it. Radio only plays what is popular at the time. With the advent of online radio this has changed some, but still does not compete with being able to download the music you want and decide if you then want to go out and purchase the whole CD.

 Get imported music where it may not be available: Not all music is available in all parts of the world. World music is hard to get in the US and it equally hard to get some US music overseas in other countries. Being able to download music online for free lets everyone get a feel for other countries’ music.

Share with other people who have like interests: One of the misunderstood things about music download is the popular thought that all people do it to be criminal and that is simply not true. Some people, more than you would imagine, do it for social reasons. They do it to belong to a community.

People spend so much time listening to the popular media’s opinion about this topic that they forget to stop and think for themselves. Well the point of this article is to give people a few things to think about. I do not want to change everyone’s mind on the subject, but if I can open one person’s eye to the subject then my goal as been met.
